In this Star Wars news update, we look at big news for Patty Jenkins’ movie Rogue Squadron first announced by Kathleen Kennedy of Lucasfilm last December. It’s been delayed but now we know that it isn’t cancelled. We had a recent rumor that it was going to be delayed indefinitely and many assumed it would be like Rian Johnson’s trilogy. After a Knights of the Old Republic remake (KOTOR) was announced, there were reports of an Old Republic era Star Wars movie for Disney+. The 2023 movie is not Kevin Feige’s movie nor the one Taika Waititi is working on.

We also talk about what’s coming up on Disney+ for Star Wars including The Book of Boba Fett, and then in 2022 we have the Mandalorian Season 3, Obi-Wan Kenobi series, Andor and The Bad Batch Season 2. 2023 promises The Acolyte, the Ahsoka Tano series by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau and maybe another movie.

This is the way!

This Star Wars Rogue Squadron news is SAD

More insider news has dropped with Disney & Lucasfilm when it comes to the infamous Rouge Squadron film. As it appears that the film’s cancellation was due to the poor quality of script, and with Patty Jenkins allegedly being difficult to work with. None of this information is concrete, but there are corroborating documents from separate films that make the rumour feasible. But it does open the door for Jenkins to resume work on the project once more.

Longplay: Star Wars Rogue Squadron [PC 60fps] | No Commentary

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (known as Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D on the PC) is an arcade-style action game co-developed by Factor 5 and LucasArts. The first of three games in the Rogue Squadron series, it was published by LucasArts and Nintendo and released for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo 64 in December 1998. Rogue Squadron was one of the first games to take advantage of the Nintendo 64’s Expansion Pak, which allows gameplay at a higher display resolution.

The story is set between Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, beginning six months after the Battle of Yavin (with the exception of the final and secret levels), and shows the missions set during the formation of Rogue Squadron, led by Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles.

In 1999, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron won the Origins Award for Best Action Computer Game of 1998.
